Child & Adolescent Program

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital Child & Adolescent Program - Nurse Checking Patient's Heart RateNo matter the trauma or illness, when your child is sick or hurt there will be many needs. Your child or teenager may need intensive inpatient rehabilitation care, outpatient therapy, care through Mary Free Bed’s follow-up clinics, or a combination of all the services at Mary Free Bed. Whatever your child or teen’s rehabilitation needs – comprehensive or focused – Mary Free Bed’s staff of pediatric rehabilitation doctors, nurses, and therapists will know the best, most effective ways to care for the one you love.

Mary Free Bed’s Child & Adolescent Program was awarded the Pediatric Specialty Program accreditation by the Commission of Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), which recognizes the hospital as a facility offering family-centered care. But at MFB, family-centered care isn’t a policy or procedure, it’s just the way we’ve always done things. We treat your baby, child, or teen and you as part of our family, offering comfort, respect, and sensitivity.

You, the caregiver, will have needs. Because you know your child best, you’ll be considered part of the team. You’ll need information, too – information about your child’s condition, treatment, and impact on your family. Our doctors, nurses, and therapists will answer all your questions and educate you on the best ways to care for your child. If you need more information, Mary Free Bed offers Internet access on the inpatient floor and an on-site medical education library you’re free to use.
