Commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a relatively rare but progressively debilitating disease. You and your family can find treatment and support through the ALS Program.
Housed in the Mercy Health Hauenstein Neuroscience Center, it’s the first nationally certified ALS program in West Michigan.
The program is a collaborative initiative of Mary Free Bed, Mercy Health Saint Mary’s Hospital and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. It’s also supported in part by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
It was recognized as an ALS Association Certified Center of Excellence in 2016.
