While this is great for providing patients with 24/7 support, the downside is that hackers have been breaching medical devices and computers in record numbers. Clinicians who are educated in cybersecurity can help to better protect patients by understanding the need to safeguard patients’ personal information, but also by understanding that the failure to do so can have grave consequences.
