Seeking the Next Disability Rights Champion: Ms. Wheelchair Michigan 2025
We’re looking for the next Ms. Wheelchair Michigan in an event that’s anything but a “beauty” pageant. Ms. Wheelchair Michigan provides a unique platform where women can strengthen their advocacy skills, develop as leaders, and amplify their voices for meaningful change.
Join in an inspiring day of connection and growth alongside other dynamic women who use wheelchairs for mobility. You’ll explore essential advocacy strategies, engage in meaningful discussions about disability rights, and draw inspiration from previous Ms. Wheelchair Michigan winners, like Shanta Favors, who continues to create lasting impact in our community.
When:
Saturday, January 18, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Crowning Gala at 4 p.m. and is open to the public

Who is eligible to compete this year?
- Women who use a wheelchair or scooter for mobility due to a disability.
- Marital status does not matter. Must be 21 years old or older. US citizen and a resident of Michigan.
- If you’ve participated before and didn’t win, you are still able to enter and compete again.
The winner of Ms. Wheelchair Michigan will go on to compete on the national stage at Ms. Wheelchair America in August of this year. The Mary Free Bed Guild is proud to support Ms. Wheelchair Michigan and host this year’s competition again.
