There’s been intense competition surrounding inpatient rehabilitation in the Grand Rapids market. We created campaigns to tell people they’re able to choose their rehabilitation location. We also devised a catchy way to remember how to do that. We remind them regularly.

Kyle Friar
Our Wheelchair & Adaptive Sports Program served more than 2,800 children and adults during 2019, the last year without COVID-19 restrictions. WAS receives 95% of its revenue from philanthropy and was the beneficiary of this year’s virtual gala. We created a video showcasing athlete Kyle Friar, which was shown during the event that raised $300,000. We also posted it on social media and received two significant donations. More>

Char and David Thompson
In the spring, we began taking rehabilitation patients from overwhelmed southeast Michigan. After contracting COVID-19, hospice nurse Char Thompson made her way to Grand Rapids for inpatient care, while we treated her husband, David, virtually in their suburban Detroit home.
