Mary Free Bed Welcomes New Vice President of Human Resources
Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation is excited to welcome Cynthia Springer as the new Vice President of Human Resources.
With more than 20 years of executive leadership, Springer brings experience in organizational development; diversity, equity and inclusion; and leading human resources in highly regulated, complex organizations. Before coming to Mary Free Bed, she held human resource positions at Purdue University Fort Wayne, Grand Rapids Community College and Amway.
Springer is not only thrilled about joining Mary Free Bed, but she’s also delighted to return to her hometown of Grand Rapids saying, “I am passionate about people and excited to support Mary Free Bed’s mission with strategically aligned human resources practices. I’m committed to leading with possibility thinking, developing deeper collaborations and creating purposeful people-centric initiatives.”
A Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient from Davenport University, where she received an associates in legal studies and a bachelors in business administration, Springer also has a masters of management & organizational development degree from Aquinas College. She’s currently completing an executive juris doctor law degree from Purdue Global Concord Law School.
Springer’s strategic vision and a proven record of accomplishments will position the Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation System as an industry leader in human resources. Teams reporting to Cynthia include Talent Acquisition, General Human Resources, Total Rewards and Employee Health.
Springer recently served as a Board Trustee at Trinity Health Saint Mary’s Grand Rapids and on the City of Grand Rapids Civil Service Board. She’s also been a member of the Michigan Chapter of the American Council of Education Network for Women Leaders in Higher Education.
