Mary Free Bed prosthetists restore hope and freedom globally
Thanks to a donation from the Mary Free Bed Guild, hope and freedom has been restored in another part of the globe. Three members of Mary Free Bed’s Orthotics & Prosthetics + Bionics team traveled to Zacapa, Guatemala to help people with amputations and limb differences maximize their mobility.
Benjamin Hogan, Maria Lesniak and Jim Storms recently returned from 10 days volunteering with Range of Motion Project. The nonprofit provides refurbished prosthetic limbs to people around the world without access.
The Mary Free Bed team joined a group of 20 other clinicians who cared for 40 patients from the local community, many of whom have waited years for a prosthetic. Together they delivered 34 new prostheses and countless smiles. Watch the video below for a peek.
